Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre
Jodrell Bank in Macclesfield is a world famous observatory. It was established in 1945 by Sir Bernard Lovell here on the doorstep of Cheshire surrounded by beautiful countryside.
In 2019 Jodrell Bank Observatory was awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status and inscribed on the World Heritage.
The discovery centre attracts thousands of visitors every year. Enjoy a wonderful day out and learn about the big bang. Explore the wonders of the universe with hands on activities and the exhibition room. Discover the history of the Lovell Telescope and the role it plays in today’s international space programme.
