The Bollin Valley Riverside Park runs between Macclesfield and Prestbury. The wide country park path winds for over 2 miles, through 70 acres of the river bollin flood plain and valley sides.

The route follows the River Bollin and is a level and accessible walk. This makes it a perfect escape for a pleasant stroll or activity with friends, family, dog walk or run!

Within a few minutes you’ll be surrounded by the therapeutic sound of rushing currents from the River Bollin and chirping bird song. The walk alongside woodland, wetland, wildflower meadow and the surrounding grassland. The path through Riverside Park stretches for 2 miles from the Visitor Centre to Prestbury.

The grassland is managed with the help of a rare breeding herd of Longhorn cattle. There is also a sculpture trail, which was set up in Riverside Park by the Bollin Valley Partnership.

If you’re feeling adventurous, Riverside Park is only a small part of the Bollin Valley Way. You can continue along a 30 mile linear footpath running from Macclesfield all the way to Partington. It offers more changing views through fields and woodlands, railways and canals, past Manchester airport and beyond.
